Over the years, we've been proud to offer the opportunity to volunteer with deviantART. We believe that our volunteers play a crucial role in helping our community develop and grow in positive ways.
The Gallery Moderator (previously known as Gallery Director) and Message Network Admin (MN@) teams have become a much loved and appreciated role, with many volunteers proudly detailing their experience in applications to enter into successful careers with companies who all recognise the value of volunteering in such a vibrant and eclectic community. In celebration of dA's 11th Birthday, Digital Dolls and Manga and Anime have come together to give you a cross gallery contest

This is an Artistic Vision contest. You will be given a list of 11 items (below) and you will have to create either a digital doll (Category 1) or an anime/manga piece (Category 2) using a minimum of 3 of the items. Each entrant is allowed one entry. Remember to credit any bases, brushes, textures, stock images/references in the description of your entry.
If you choose to do an anime/manga piece, it can be traditional or digital.

Rock, Paper, Scissors TournamentLadies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Deviants of all ages. The Community Volunteers proudly present to you a slobberknocker of an event! Sunday (August 7th, 2011) in :#devart: through out the day there will be several Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournaments going on starting at 8 AM EST with the final Tournament at 4pm EST.
Rules

Before each Tournament I will be calling for participants. Only the First 16 deviants to post Our secret word (to be revealed in chat) will be chosen.

If you are chosen and at the time of your match do not answer to the call of your name you will be disqualified and a replacement will be chosen.

Game play is simple. You will be playing a typical Rock, Paper Scissors game except with emotes.

Birthday Scuzzle! BREAKING NEWS! Something terrible has happened!
Some naughty mudkips invaded dA and stole a very important photograph. The stunning photo was a gift for all of you to celebrate deviantART's 11th birthday. It is devastating to confirm it is now missing.
Witnesses say that the mudkips were spotted sneaking out of an open window, but we cannot confirm until a full investigation has been reported and all evidence collected.
In the meantime, the photograph remains missing. $Moonbeam13 is currently searching her spellbook to find a way to bring the image back.

What is a Scuzzle?
A Scuzzle is a combination of a Scavenger Hunt and a Jigsaw Puzzle. There will be lots of missing pieces of this Scuzzle ready for you to find. Although there are some subtle clues to help you along your way, you will need to search high and low for them! Come back on the 3rd August for the hunt to begin!

Seniority Announcement - December 2011This article marks the latest announcements detailing the latest additions to the dizzy height of Senior members in our community. With just over 800 deviants holding the highly saught after ` -- it's clearly a moment that deserves recognition.

What Do You See? Birthday Contest!

We all look at clouds, net curtains and woodchip wallpaper and try and make faces right? I know I do! With that in mind we bring you:

What Do You See?

Challenge: Take a look at one of these four photographs.

Then simply show us what you see! But here's the catch - it MUST be dA related!

Here is an example I did:

Rules and Guidelines

The deviation should be dA themed, as this is a birthday contest! For example, you may wish to include Fella, popular emotes, llamas, ninjas etc

You may NOT use the image directly.

Whichever shapes you see in the stock images should be translated as closely as possible in your finished piece. For example, the mountain in my example is the same shape as the wallpaper rip.

Please link to the stock image used and say what part of your image it's used in. For example I used the shape of the wallpaper rip as the mountain.

It is open to all visual media.
