The difference between Illustration and other art is something that many people aren't too sure about. Simply put, illustration is artwork that is created purposefully to communicate ideas, instructions or a narrative.
Telling stories is how we have learned for millenia. Cave paintings, Greek and Roman painted Urns and the Bayeux Tapestry are three excellent examples of early narrative illustration, and illustrations are still how people are taught all manner of things, from nursery to adulthood, learning everything from history to biology.

Give me five!
I feel like doing another feature. I'm ill, I missed the phone call from the doctors with test results so I need distracting until they open on Monday!
SO: This requires some searching :) I would like:
5 links to deviations that are related to the seasons or a particular season. One of these can be one of your own deviations.
I will feature the ones I like the most and everyone who contributes will be credited in the journal :)
Oh my wooly word
So I've started crocheting. joannastar (https://www.deviantart.com/joannastar) made Astrid an amazing blanket but it's too small to wrap her in now (sob) so I am attempting to make a big one that we can all snuggle under :) So far I've made 4 of these squares:
So... a fair way to go. I use crochet as a mechanical, completely non creative task to give my brain a break after drawing etc. That's not to say crochet isn't creative - anyone who's ever stumbled across UnicornReality (https://www.deviantart.com/unicornreality)'s gallery could tell you it is - but for me, following a pattern to do a load of squares, not so much. And I love it.
Here is some amazing creative crochet to show you how fantastic it is <3

Who likes drawing Dr Who porn?
There's a rule. If it exists, there's porn of it.
There is no porn of The Face of Boe - at least not that I can find. Why!? He's a giant face with a giant tongue and tentacles - HOW HAS THAT NOT BEEN RUINED FOREVER!?
So I demand badly drawn FoB porny fanart. Obviously don't upload it to DA, that would be silly, but link me to it because it needs to exist damnit!
Oh, look, a new year...
... and I saw it in with a snoring baby snotting in my armpit. I am so rock and roll.
Here is my life in four photos:
Also I went to see UnicornReality (https://www.deviantart.com/unicornreality) at the weekend. We had carvery, I made inappropriate cancer jokes... in front of a rather shocked waiter. I laughed until I cried, everyone else despaired of me. Total Miranda moment.
Oh look, some features. Recent faves and suchlike.
